Having the right people with the right skills in the right places is key to the continued success of Scottish aquaculture.

It’s a goal we’re working towards from various angles. Our summer internship programme, run in partnership with ScotGrad, aims to encourage new generations into the sector by giving undergraduates an insight into the range of career opportunities available.

Our SAIC Scholars initiative, meanwhile, offers funded places and more to those interested in studying for an MSc in an aquaculture-related subject.

Most recently, we’ve introduced the SAIC graduate programme, offering recent graduates the opportunity to spend 18 months working with one of Scotland’s leading aquaculture business.

And to help develop those already working within the sector, we worked with industry to develop a new sector-specific training course, Managing and Leading the Team, equipping first-time managers with the skills and knowledge necessary to be effective team leaders.
