Aquaculture Careers is the must-attend event for those interested in working in the sector.

This year’s Aquaculture Careers Day will take place at the Pathfoot Building at the University of Stirling on 16 April 2018. It’s organised by the Aquaculture Students’ Association at the University of Stirling and supported by SAIC and the Institute of Aquaculture.

Sponsor of this year’s event is Coppens International – an Alltech company.

Open to fourth year undergraduates, MSc and PhD students alike, it’s a wonderful opportunity to find out about aquaculture career paths, and hear what employers are looking for.

Students can also use the event to make valuable connections with industry –speakers this year include Ben Hadfield (Managing Director of Marine Harvest Scotland, and a SAIC Board member), Philip Lyons (Coppens International), and Chris Mitchell (Pharmaq-Zoetis).

Running since 2014, the Aquaculture Careers Day has been the starting point for many a career, and we are proud to support it as part of our work to grow the talent pool in Scottish aquaculture.

The day was very career-specific … and relevant. Students had the chance to meet in person with some of the key employers, and I was even able to ask questions relevant to my ongoing job application process that improved my specific knowledge. This gave me a better chance to achieve my present position.”
