Heather Jones Chief Executive
Heather Jones has an MA (Geography) and an MBA from the University of Edinburgh. For 25 years she worked for the Scottish Office, Scottish Executive, Locate in Scotland and the Scottish Government as a Senior Civil Servant providing strategic policy direction to Ministerial teams from all four major political parties in Scotland. Heather was Deputy Director in Marine Scotland responsible for aquaculture in 2007-2010.
Jason Cleaversmith Director of Business Development
Jason Cleaversmith was most recently Head of Aqua Health PEI at Novartis Animal Health in Canada. He has a PhD in marine geochemistry from the University of Edinburgh and an MBA from the University of Glasgow.
Corinne Critchlow-Watton Research and Knowledge Exchange Manager
Cori completed an MSc at Napier University in 1998 and a PhD at the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling in 2003 and went on to project manage and teach at the Institute. Projects have included EU funded and UK funded projects as well as very large multi-stakeholder projects. These projects included European and Asian partners. She was also the coordinator and a teacher on a Bangladesh based blended learning MSc funded through the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission.
Donald Fowler Business Development Manager
Donald was most recently a senior business development manager with Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and is a graduate of the University of Glasgow in Aquatic Bioscience. Donald has over 20 years’ experience in aquaculture and marine economic development.
Robin Shields Aquaculture Innovation Manager
Robin Shields gained a PhD in marine biology from the University of Wales Bangor in 1990 and has more than 25 years of experience in applied aquaculture research and technology development. Having previously worked for Seafish UK, The Oceanic Institute and Swansea University (Director of Centre for Sustainable Aquaculture Research), Robin joined the SAIC team as an Aquaculture Innovation Manager in May 2016.
Lesley Dougall Marketing & Communications Manager
Creative agency born and bred, BA Honours graduate Lesley worked her way up from Junior Copywriter to Head of Design before setting up her own copywriting and marketing consultancy in 2008. Now, Lesley is experiencing marketing life client-side, applying her different skill-sets to the promotion of just one organisation, having joined the Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre in February 2016.
