Sea Lice 2018The Sea Lice Conference brings together the most prominent global sea lice researchers every two years and this year is held at Punta Arenas, Chile, the southernmost city in the world. The conference is organized by Instituto Tecnológico del Salmón (INTESAL), INCAR, Universidad de Magallanes and Instituto de Acuicultura of Universidad Austral de Chile.

Experts and researchers gather to analyse sea lice infestations in farmed salmon and to share their experiences and best practices to effectively mitigate and control infestations.

The conference programme focuses on different areas of research, including sea lice biology, epidemiology, chemical use and control, wild fish interaction with the environment, integrated handling of pests, mathematical models, molecular genetics, new discoveries, regulatory policies, management and other important issues occurring at the moment.

SAIC’s Polly Douglas, Aquaculture Innovation Manager, is attending this event and will be delighted to connect with you. If you would like to meet with Polly to discuss who we are and what we do, please email polly@scottishaquaculture.com.
